There was too the Sukeban Deka OVA in 1991. A stylized & campy/cool action pits trained high school girls inside school uniforms against local villains & national conspiracies. Their weapons include their trademark "razor yo-yo," deadly foil origami cranes, marbles, knitting needles and darts altered from either a game of jacks.

the films particularly own achieved a cult status on both sides of the Pacific. 1987's Subekan Deka is their feature debut, & typically thought to become their virtually all evenly written & directed vehicle. Many of the "deka girls" afterwards graduated into 'idol" status with to singing careers. Yui Asaka from Sukeban Deka 3 sang one of the songs on the Katamari Damacy video game soundtrack.

The Sukeban Deka series has even been parodied by Ben Dunn in the American manga series Ninja High School in the form of Hitomi and her Girl Commandoes. Both Ninja High School and the Hitomi mini-series are published by Antarctic Press.
